On September 20, the new aluminum-silicon coating production line of Zhanjiang Iron and Steel (Baosteel Co., Ltd.) was officially put into production, and the first roll of qualified products was successfully rolled off the production line. It marks that Zhanjiang Iron and Steel has made a breakthrough in the research, development, and manufacturing of full-strength series aluminum-silicon coating materials with independent intellectual property rights, and has entered a new stage of mass and stable production of high-performance aluminum-silicon coating materials.

Its outstanding mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and welding performance can make vehicles safer, more economical, and more environmentally friendly. As a million-ton ultra-high-strength steel production base, Zhanjiang Iron and Steel launched the aluminum-silicon coating material technology transformation project at the beginning of this year to meet the diversified needs of the automotive industry for ultra-high-strength steel products, relying on Baosteel's independent innovation advantages and technological accumulation. After 4 months of construction, the project products were successfully put into production. Zhanjiang Iron and Steel will inject new impetus into the automotive industry by producing higher-performance aluminum-silicon coating materials.
