Recently, the Steelmaking No. 1 Plant’s No. 3 continuous caster variety steel transformation equipment upgrading project successfully completed a hot test, marking another major breakthrough in the group’s variety steel development.
Before the transformation, the No. 3 continuous casting machine produced HRB400, Q195, and Q235B steel grades. The steel grades were single and the product structure was limited, which restricted the production and operation development of the group. To enhance the market competitiveness of the enterprise and create new technologies and new products, Steelmaking No. 1 Plant will implement the equipment upgrade and transformation of the No. 3 continuous casting machine from the beginning of 2024, further develop the billet steel series, and production conditions for 30MnSi, ER70S series, 45A, and other steel grades.
The main content of this equipment upgrade and transformation is to transform the continuous casting ladle nozzle manipulator, the tundish plug nozzle control, the built-in crystallizer electromagnetic stirring equipment, and the secondary cooling water control mode and optimize them for dynamic model control.
After optimizing and adjusting the upgrade and transformation plan, demonstrating and determining the technical route, and implementing the equipment transformation, with the concerted efforts of many parties, the No. 3 continuous casting machine equipment upgrade and transformation project of Steelmaking No. 1 Plant was a complete success, demonstrating the group's firm determination in transformation and upgrading, and reflecting the group's continuous pursuit and exploration of new technologies.
The upgrade and transformation of the No. 3 continuous casting machine is a concrete action taken by Steelmaking No. 1 Plant to implement the group's business policy of "improving quality and increasing profits through variety". The successful implementation of this project will help further enrich the group's product structure and variety, expand the market scope and brand influence, increase the group's product market share, and lay a solid foundation for the group's high-end product transformation and development.
