Weiyuan Steel Co., Ltd. is located in Lianjie Town, Weiyuan County, Sichuan Province. The company was established in March 2001. It is the largest subsidiary of Sichuan Chuanwei Group Co., Ltd., one of the top 500 Chinese enterprises and one of the top ten private enterprises in Sichuan Province. In 2006, it became a joint venture with Hong Kong Hechuang Group. The company mainly engages in the smelting of vanadium-containing steel, refining of vanadium slag, rolling and processing of vanadium-containing steel, and smelting and processing of non-ferrous metals.

Weigang Company has a long history and profound cultural heritage. Since 1998, through three rounds of large-scale technological transformation, backward production processes and equipment have been continuously eliminated, and all basic steel industry equipment and processes have reached the domestic advanced level. The company has an annual output of 3.1 million tons of vanadium-containing high-strength rods, as well as the supporting production capacity of 2.9 million tons of vanadium-containing molten iron, 3 million tons of vanadium-containing molten steel, and 1.1 million tons of coke. The vanadium-containing steel industry has advanced equipment and technology. The scale of steel production ranks second in Sichuan Province, and it is a national large-scale steel backbone enterprise focused on statistics by the China Iron and Steel Industry Association. The company has five blast furnaces, three converters, three continuous casting machines, one high-speed wire rod rolling mill, one fully continuous rolling bar production line, four oxygen generating units, six generating units, and tamping, coking, and chemical production systems. A set of facilities has formed an advanced production process of "four complete and one spray." Among them, the steel rolling system has three first-class production lines, namely a high-speed wire rod production line with an annual output of 500,000 tons and a high-speed bar production line with an annual output of 900,000 tons. Weigang Company has stable raw and fuel supply channels in the upstream industry, with large reserves and low costs. The self-sufficiency rate of iron ore concentrate has reached more than 65%, ensuring a stable supply of corporate resources.
