Recently, Nansteel participated in the steel supply of the largest railway project of the Belt and Road Initiative - the first section of the Padma Bridge railway connection line in Bangladesh which was officially opened to traffic. This route is from Dhaka to Bangga. Nansteel’s support for the Belt and Road projects has made another shining achievement.

The Padma Bridge is the largest bridge in Bangladesh and the first permanent bridge across the Padma River in this country. The bridge is 7.8 kilometers long and is a road-rail bridge. The upper level is a two-way, four-lane highway, and the lower is a single-track railway. The railway connection line connecting the bridge is a modern railway and the largest infrastructure construction project in Bangladesh in history. The total length is about 170 kilometers. It starts from Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, which passes through the Padma Bridge, and extends southwest to Jessore. It is a passenger and freight railway with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. This project is the largest railway project cooperated by China and Bangladesh under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. It is also a double-top project financed by the Chinese government. It is of great significance to the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative and the construction of the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor.

Nansteel mainly supplies the 30m steel plate beams connecting the project. This part has complex specifications, including many ultra-long and ultra-thin plates, and it is difficult to control the plate shape. Faced with various difficulties, the sales, production, technology, quality, and logistics teams specially set up a Padma Bridge service team, organized research and discussions many times, formulated detailed production technology plans overnight, and arranged dedicated personnel to track the entire production process out of the warehouse.
