Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the list of places and outstanding scenarios for the 2023 intelligent manufacturing demonstration factory, the medium-thick plate intelligent manufacturing demonstration factory applied by Xiangtan Steel was successfully selected. This is another important achievement in the construction of Xiangtan Steel's "smart factory" after it was awarded the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's manufacturing and Internet integration development pilot demonstration project in 2020. It marks an important breakthrough in Xiangtan Steel's intelligent manufacturing.

In recent years, Xiangtan Steel has actively aligned with the "Made in China 2025" strategy, vigorously promoted the in-depth integration of new generation information technologies such as 5G, big data, machine vision, industrial robots, and artificial intelligence with production processes, implemented nearly 400 smart manufacturing projects, and completed the board Intelligent scenarios such as unmanned billet warehouse, automatic slab transfer, intelligent scrap grading, bar surface AI detection, and automatic drone inspection have been incubated to create three “unmanned production lines” and became the first “black light factory” in the industry.
