This marks that the world's widest thick plate project of Henan Iron and Steel Group Zhoukou Base has entered the key sprint stage of comprehensive equipment installation, and has taken an important step towards the hot test goal in October. It also marks another successful breakthrough in the field of extreme steel manufacturing, and the world's wide and thick plate rolling mill is about to enter a new era of 5600mm.
The rolling mill frame is the largest and heaviest part of the rolling mill working frame and plays a vital role in production. The 5600mm rolling mill frame delivered this time is the core equipment of the 5600mm wide and thick plate project of Henan Iron and Steel Group Zhoukou Base, with a rolling force of 12,000 tons.
Thick plate mills are mainly used to produce thick plate products, which are one of the important products in the metallurgical industry and the core raw materials of many national heavy equipment. Before Henan Iron and Steel Group planned to build a production line for extra-wide and extra-thick plates, foreign suppliers had long been in a monopoly position in the overall design and manufacturing of 5000mm thick plate mill equipment, occupying 100% of the domestic market share and leading in technology accumulation, performance, and innovation. my country has no record of independently designing and manufacturing 5000mm thick plate mills.
The rolling mill frame was successfully delivered, and for the first time, the domestic design and manufacturing of the 5500mm thick plate rolling mill was truly realized, breaking the situation where foreign suppliers were the only ones, effectively improving the level of metallurgical equipment manufacturing in my country, and further demonstrating the hard-core strength of equipment manufacturing in China's steel industry. It is of great significance to promote the transformation and upgrading of China's steel equipment manufacturing industry, improve the technical content, accelerate the structural reorganization and systemic reshaping of the national steel industry, lead the development of the industry, and help build a strong manufacturing country.

The production line is positioned as the leading in the country and world-class. It is currently the world's largest wide and thick plate unit and is a well-deserved king of rolling mills. The designed annual output is 2.6 million tons, and the main products cover the steel needs of high-end markets such as ship and marine engineering plates, new energy, engineering machinery, bridges, high-grade pressure vessels, pipelines, etc. After completion and production, it will effectively adjust the product structure of Henan's steel industry, enhance the supply capacity of high-end steel products of Henan Iron and Steel Group, and provide strong steel support for the transformation and upgrading of downstream manufacturing industries.
