Recently, the 270,000 m3 H and F tanks of 9Ni steel for the CNOOC Zhuhai Phase II LNG project supplied by Nansteel were successfully delivered. It successfully ensured the construction period of the project and added Nansteel power to China's clean energy project construction.

As one of China's key oil and gas infrastructure projects, the CNOOC Zhuhai LNG Phase II project started construction in June 2021. At the same time, it will build five 270,000 cubic meter LNG storage tanks and supporting facilities with the world's largest single tank capacity. After the project is completed in 2024, the Zhuhai LNG receiving station will become the largest natural gas storage and transportation base in South China. The annual processing capacity of liquefied natural gas can reach 7 million tons, equivalent to about 10 billion cubic meters of gaseous natural gas, which can be used by nearly 30 million residents for one year, providing continuous and stable clean energy for the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, is significant in promoting the economic construction of the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.

On May 20, 2022, Nanjing Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. won the bid for the first time for all outer tank plates of five 270,000 cubic meter storage tanks of the Zhuhai LNG Phase II project. More than 95% of this order is for steel plates with a thickness of 5 mm, which is extremely difficult to produce, hoist, and transport. During the delivery process, Nansteel maintained close contact with the Zhuhai project department at all times, and through online and offline meetings, formulated the production delivery plan and conducted on-site tracking and advancement. On the 27th day after signing the agreement, Nanjing Steel delivered the first batch of urgently needed wall-embedded panels to the project site, meeting the construction needs promptly. Nanjing Steel arranges, produces, and ships according to the tank construction sequence, which improves construction efficiency and ensures the construction period. On April 20, 2023, Nansteel received a letter of thanks from the owner of the second phase of the Zhuhai LNG expansion project, thanking Nansteel for its strong support of the second phase of the Zhuhai LNG expansion project in Guangdong and its support of Nansteel and Nansteel series products. In March 2023, Nansteel successfully won the bid for 9Ni steel orders for two 270,000 cubic meter LNG storage tanks in the Zhuhai LNG Phase II project with its high-quality brand, rich performance, and project operation capabilities integrating production, marketing, and research + services. The 270,000-square-meter LNG storage tank of the Zhuhai LNG Phase II expansion project is the largest LNG storage tank in the world. At the same time, as one of the key national oil and gas infrastructure projects, the project has put forward more stringent technical requirements for 9Ni steel and added different thicknesses. Requirements for steel plate -165℃ non-temperature gradient crack arrest test. To meet customer needs, Nansteel's technical R&D team held multiple rounds of discussions with the testing unit on key elements such as test methods and test equipment, repeatedly discussed vital technical indicators, and sent samples for testing in advance. The test was finally completed perfectly, which paved the way for the delivery and delivery of steel plates. The foundation is laid for on-site use. During the production and delivery process of the project, Nansteel's production, marketing, and research teams worked closely with each other and had dedicated personnel to track it. It only took less than 7 months to complete the delivery of all 9Ni steel, ensuring the progress of the project and winning praise from users.
