Recently, Heilongjiang Jianlong successfully mass-produced low-sulfur continuous-casting pipe billets for the first time without pretreatment of molten iron, which is a breakthrough in the company's vanadium extraction and smelting technology.
It is understood that low-sulfur continuous-casting tube billets need to have high strength, high toughness, excellent fatigue resistance, fracture resistance, and corrosion resistance to ensure stability and durability in extreme environments. The steel alloys used in the tube billets produced this time are diverse, with great technical difficulties, many constraints, and strict detail control. In addition, the sulfur content in the finished product is required to be ≤0.003%. If you want to produce without pre-treatment of the molten iron, this means that a slight deviation may lead to excessive sulfur content, affecting the quality of the final product.
In order to meet the strict requirements of product quality, Heilongjiang Jianlong's technical and production team has strictly controlled multiple key links such as molten iron-sulfur control, refining process, and temperature control to ensure that the steel has ultra-low sulfur content and extremely small carbon range of continuous casting billets.
Due to the lack of pre-adjustment of the molten iron composition in the pretreatment stage, in the subsequent smelting process, the precise addition and uniform distribution of various alloying elements are required, which puts extremely high demands on the batching and alloying process. For example, in the ironmaking stage, Heilongjiang Jianlong has carefully formulated a detailed batching plan. The proportion of each raw material has been repeatedly and accurately calculated and simulated to ensure that the initial quality of the molten iron is optimal. At the same time, the temperature control strategy is accurate to every subtle change in degree, and with the help of advanced sensors and intelligent control systems, the temperature in the furnace is accurately and stably controlled. In addition, a strict plan has been formulated for the regulation of the temperature in the furnace, and the best chemical reaction environment for molten iron smelting is created by accurately controlling the input and discharge of gases.
Heilongjiang Jianlong carried out a total of 7 smelting furnaces this time. After inspection, the sulfur content of the tube billet was accurately and stably controlled at 0.001%-0.002%, ensuring the quality of the product.
