The Hungary-Serbia Railway is a landmark project of the "Belt and Road" jointly built by China and Central and Eastern European countries. It is also the first project to connect China's railway technical equipment with the European Union's railway interconnection technical specifications. It is nearly 350 kilometers long and connects the Hungarian capital Budapest and Serbia. The capital is Belgrade. With its excellent product quality and efficient service, Baotou Steel Group successfully obtained an order for 22,635 tons of 60E1 rails in December 2022. This order will all be used for the Serbian section of the Hungarian-Serbian Railway. Baogang Rail Beam Factory quickly organized the technical and quality R&D department to carry out technical research and applied the all-purpose rolling process to the 60E1 rails' production for the first time after receiving the production task. By optimizing the processes of billet heating, rolling, sawing to length, loading, and warehousing, we finally successfully produced the first batch of more than 600 tons of 50-meter fixed-length 60E1 rails that are better than user standards.

To ensure the smooth supply of the first batch of rails, the manufacturing department of Baotou Steel Co., Ltd., in conjunction with the China Academy of Railway Sciences, organized the marketing center, transportation department, and other relevant units to study and formulate a 50-meter rail loading and reinforcement plan. At the same time, it actively contacted the Freight Department of the Hunan Railway Bureau to coordinate and promote the plan's implementation as soon as possible. After hard work, the static load, impact, and braking tests were completed in mid-February 2023, laying a solid foundation for the smooth approval of the subsequent loading and reinforcement plan and ensuring the delivery of the first batch of Hungary-Serbia railway rails. By the end of 2023, all 22,600 tons of high-quality rails have been supplied. After the Hungary-Serbia railway project is put into operation, the running time between the capitals of Hungary and Serbia will be shortened from 8 hours to 3 hours, and the maximum speed will be increased from the original 40 kilometers per hour to 200 kilometers per hour, which will provide great convenience for local people to travel, and also provide great convenience for Serbia. It has even injected vitality into the economic and social development of Central and Eastern Europe.
