Baosteel's export orders to the Middle East - UOE elbow mother pipes have all been completed recently. This batch of products will be used in natural gas pipeline construction.

Baosteel's steel pipe and bar business department has vigorously explored overseas markets and tapped the market demand of countries along the "One Belt, One Road" since 2023. Relying on the channel advantages of Baosteel Group, colleagues in the business department have deeply cultivated the international market and vigorously expanded the "domestic sales to export", which has strongly supported the operation and development of steel pipe products.

This order is the first cooperation between Baosteel and the Middle East user in large-diameter UOE elbow mother pipes. The high standards of users have put forward new challenges to Baosteel's full-process manufacturing capabilities. The welded pipe production, sales, and research team has visited the user units often to conduct exchanges and gradually optimize the technical solutions and production delivery details. After inviting users to visit the production line, Baosteel's full-process production capacity, technical strength, and production plan won the trust of the other party.

After the team quickly carried out contract design, raw material procurement, quality process development, and production plan details, it entered the production stage. In response to users' special needs for products, the team conducted multiple tests and demonstrations and formed special designs in terms of the chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensional tolerances, and pipe-making processes of the mother tube. In order to meet the user's order size requirements, the UOE pipe-making production line of the welded pipe plant needs to produce three lengths of mother tubes. This has brought considerable difficulties to the production organization. And the cost of switching specifications is high. After repeated research, the team has developed personalized treatment plans for quality process design and production organization. By optimizing the steel plate feeding sequence and plate and tube sampling plans, and appropriately manually intervening in the material flow during the process, the production of other contract specification products is reasonably connected, so that there is almost no additional loss in production line capacity. The final result not only meets the product quality requirements but also achieves the goal of smooth production of the production line.
