At the beginning of July, the 18.8-meter-long wind power steel produced by Baosteel Co., Ltd.'s wide and thick plate production line was successfully rolled off the production line and delivered to users. This is the first time that Baosteel Co., Ltd. has mass-produced ultra-long wind power steel.

As a clean energy, wind power is important in my country's energy structure adjustment. The demand for clean energy has driven the demand for wind-power steel products. Baosteel Co., Ltd. is one of the earliest companies in China to develop wind power steel. Its thin plate plant-wide and thick plate production line has the highest output of onshore wind power steel in China.

To increase the power generation capacity, the blades of the generator are gradually getting longer, and the wind power towers that match them are getting taller and taller and larger in diameter. As the raw material for producing towers, the wind power industry's requirements for the length of wind power steel have also changed accordingly. Ultra-long wind power steel with a length of more than 17.5 meters has broad market prospects. Baosteel Co., Ltd. quickly targeted the ultra-long wind power steel market and worked hard to expand the range of product varieties and specifications.

Compared with ordinary wind power steel, ultra-long wind power steel increases the difficulty of production hoisting and transportation. To this end, a research group was set up for the wide and thick plate production line of the thin plate plant to clarify the production process and technical requirements and formulate special production organization plans from multiple aspects such as production planning, contract assembly, slow cooling of large plates off the line, quality assurance, delivery, and loading cycle, etc.; adjust the rolling width, strictly control the plate shape, implement standardized operations, and improve product quality; in response to changes in product length, improve the overhead crane control system to ensure that the hoisting and transportation process is safe, stable and controlled.

After the first batch of super-long wind power steel was delivered to users, it received good feedback. Other such products are being organized for production. Baosteel's super-long wind power steel has made its dominant position in wind power steel products more stable, laying a solid foundation for improving market competitiveness.
