Focusing on the development and production tasks of Mn13 high manganese wear-resistant steel, the Second Melting and Rolling Operation Department held several seminars to optimize and upgrade the continuous casting process of Mn13 high manganese wear-resistant steel, focusing on the characteristics of this type of steel, such as high strength, poor thermal conductivity, long heating time, fast temperature drop, and extremely strict requirements on equipment, process, and operation. Because of the high C and Mn content, poor heat transfer, and large shrinkage of this type of steel, they adopted weak cooling control to reduce the shrinkage of the billet shell in the fan-shaped segment and eliminate the fluctuation of the liquid level of the crystallizer, successfully solving the problems of cracks and steel leakage in the continuous casting billet, and providing high-quality billets for the rolling process. At the same time, because of the problems such as middle longitudinal cracks and rolling stratification that are prone to occur during the rolling process, the rolling capacity limit is fully tapped, and the post personnel operate carefully and focus on the operation quality to make the production operation reach the best state and ensure the smooth production of Mn13 high manganese wear-resistant steel.
