Ultra-clean bearing steel is the main raw material for manufacturing bearings with long contact fatigue life for automobiles, railways, energy, CNC machine tools, etc. It has a narrow composition range, low phosphorus and sulfur content, and especially high oxygen and titanium content requirements. At the same time, there are clear restrictions on macro inclusions, micro inclusions, carbide control, etc., making production difficult.
In order to meet customer requirements, Zhongnan Co., Ltd. actively planned and strictly controlled the key raw and auxiliary materials of bearing steel in the steelmaking process, and organized multiple rounds of centralized batch production to break through bottlenecks; to control inclusions, it worked closely with universities, and experts and professors went to the site to guide the operation details; to address the difficulty in controlling large-sized carbides, it boldly innovated in the controlled rolling and controlled cooling process, fully utilized the capabilities of the high-end three-line equipment, and successfully achieved the control goals.
The research and development of ultra-high cleanliness bearing steel wire rods have strongly supported the promotion and application of bearings with long contact fatigue life, accelerated the upgrading of bearing products, and helped my country's steel industry develop in a green and high-quality direction.
