Quenching is a heat treatment process that heats metal products or parts above the phase transformation temperature and then cools them rapidly at a rate greater than the critical cooling rate after insulation to obtain a martensitic structure. The purpose of quenching is to obtain a martensite structure. Then, after tempering, the workpiece can obtain good performance and fully utilize the potential of the material.
