Cold rolled non-oriented silicon steel is a silicon and iron alloy with a very low carbon content. It has an irregularly oriented grain distribution in the deformed and annealed steel plate. The silicon content of cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel is 1.5% to 3.0%, or the sum of silicon and aluminium content is 1.8% to 4.0%. Its products are usually cold-rolled sheets or strips with nominal thicknesses of 0.35 and 0.5mm, mainly used in the manufacture of electric motors and generators.
