1. The yield strength of super duplex stainless steel is twice that of 300 series stainless steel. Under the same load conditions, the thickness of the steel can be reduced, reducing the material cost of equipment products.

2. Due to the high N content, super duplex stainless steel has a yield strength and tensile strength up to twice that of ordinary stainless steel, and the wear resistance of the material is significantly higher than that of ordinary materials. In some pipelines or equipment with corrosion and fluid erosion, high-N and high-strength super duplex steel is selected for a longer service life.

Disadvantages:
1. The strength of super duplex stainless steel 2507 is twice that of ordinary austenitic and ferritic stainless steel. The tensile and yield strengths are generally higher, but the toughness is worse than that of austenitic stainless steel. The material cannot be used for deep stamping processing, and cannot be used as a stamping material with a deep groove.

2. The parent material of super duplex stainless steel 2507 generally exists in the phase of ferrite and austenite, with close to 50% each. The balance between ferrite and austenite in the welded joint is affected by the content of alloying elements in the steel, as well as the filler metal, welding thermal cycle, and shielding gas. The influence of N content should be paid attention to cracks at the root after welding. In multi-layer welding, attention should also be paid to the interlayer temperature and the need for stress relief heat treatment after welding.

1. Super duplex stainless steel has higher strength and better corrosion resistance. This is due to the difference in its chemical composition and microstructure. Super duplex stainless steel contains more chromium, nickel, aluminum, and other elements, which can enhance the corrosion resistance of the material. At the same time, its microstructure is also formed by the interaction of austenite and ferrite, which gives it higher strength and better plasticity.

2. Super duplex stainless steel also has better welding performance. Due to the special properties of its chemical composition and microstructure, it can be welded by conventional welding methods without special treatment. This makes super duplex stainless steel more convenient in manufacturing and processing

Super duplex stainless steel also has some disadvantages. First, its price is usually higher than ordinary stainless steel. This is due to the complexity of its chemical composition and manufacturing process. Secondly, due to its high strength and hardness, super duplex stainless steel is more difficult to process and form. This may lead to an increase in production costs.
