Steel-plastic composite pipes need to be distinguished between inner plastic coating, inner and outer plastic coating, and installation location to determine whether they need to be oiled for corrosion protection. Overhead installation does not require oiling for corrosion protection in general non-corrosive environments; in corrosive environments, inner plastic-coated composite pipes require corrosion protection on the outside of the pipe, while inner and outer plastic-coated composite pipes do not require corrosion protection. Buried inner plastic-coated composite pipes require corrosion protection on the outside of the pipe, while inner and outer plastic-coated composite pipes do not require corrosion protection.
Steel-plastic composite pipes generally do not need to be oiled for corrosion protection. If they are buried underground, steel-plastic composite pipes need to be treated with anti-corrosion.
If the inside and outside are fully coated with plastic, no anti-corrosion oiling is required; if the inside is coated with plastic and the outside of the pipe is only insulated, no anti-corrosion oiling is needed; if the inside is coated with plastic and the outside of the pipe is directly exposed to the outside, anti-corrosion oiling is needed.
The disadvantage is that it must not be bent during installation. During hot processing and electric welding and cutting, the cut surface should be coated with non-toxic room-temperature curing glue provided by the manufacturer to repair the damaged parts.
