Recently, Shan Steel successfully developed and mass-produced 36.5mm thick external standard low-temperature resistant H-beam steel, which will be used in overseas engineering construction. This not only refreshed the limit specifications of Shan Steel's steel profiles but also filled the technical gap in the domestic production of extra-thick low-temperature resistant H-beam steel, injecting a strong impetus for Shan Steel to participate in the "Belt and Road" international cooperation projects.
It is understood that 36.5 mm thick H-beam is recognized as the industry's limit size specification for steel profiles. The rolling process is complex and technically difficult, especially in terms of ensuring the low-temperature performance of the product. There are many technical difficulties. This is the first time that Shan Steel's steel profiles line has produced low-temperature resistant H-beams with a thickness of more than 36 mm, and it faces huge challenges in technology research and development, production, and manufacturing. In order to break through the technical bottleneck, Shan Steel's Manufacturing Management Department took the lead in jointly forming a technical research team with Shandong Steel's steel mill, steelmaking plant, and other units to break through the limitations of traditional processes, so that the impact energy stability of the product in a low-temperature environment of minus 20 degrees Celsius has been significantly improved, and the measured value has reached more than 200 joules.
After strict quality inspection, the surface quality, external dimensions and low-temperature impact performance of this batch of products meet or exceed the relevant standards, satisfying customer requirements, demonstrating Shan Steel's hard-core competitiveness in the research and development and production of low-temperature resistant H-beam steel, and further improving Shan Steel's ability to receive orders in high-end markets such as marine engineering and bridge construction.
