On October 30, Shaanxi Steel Group Hangang Company and its end customers successfully jointly developed for the first time a hot-rolled wire rod CRW·Q235 wire rod for cold-rolled ribbed steel rebar. This product strictly implements the latest national mandatory standards for cold-rolled ribbed steel rebar and is the first product in the domestic steel industry after the implementation of the new national standard.
Cold-rolled ribbed steel rebar is a new type of high-strength steel. They are small-diameter steel bars with crescent-shaped transverse ribs on three or two sides produced by cold rolling. The steel bars are strengthened by cold working, which greatly improves the strength and meets certain requirements for ductility. At present, cold-rolled ribbed steel rebar has been widely used in industrial and civil housing, highways, runways, tunnels, and other projects.
According to the national mandatory standards for cold-rolled ribbed steel rebar and market demand, the research and development team of Hangang Company formulated a detailed process plan based on the key points of the process and product characteristics. During the trial production, the technical personnel went deep into the front line of the site to track and guide the process control throughout the process. Close cooperation between various on-site processes and strict implementation of process systems ensured the stable and qualified performance of the wire rod, and this development task was successfully completed. It is expected that the product will be first applied in the southwest market, effectively promoting high-quality development of the industry.
