Recently, Shougang Co., Ltd.'s No. 1 and No. 2 blast furnaces' dehumidification project was put into operation. This marks the full completion of Shougang's blast furnace dehumidification project.

Blast furnace dehumidification technology is one of the three major smelting energy-saving technologies (coal injection, oxygen enrichment, and dehumidification) recognized by the international ironmaking industry. Blast furnace dehumidification technology has the functions of reducing the comprehensive coke ratio of blast furnaces, stabilizing furnace conditions, and reducing carbon emissions. It has huge economic, environmental, and social benefits, and is an effective measure for modern blast furnace ironmaking to increase production and energy saving and increase corporate profits.

Shougang Co., Ltd.'s blast furnace dehumidification project was launched on April 11, 2023. The No. 3 blast furnace dehumidification project took 79 days to complete and was put into use on June 30, 2023. One year after it was put into use, the No. 3 blast furnace saved 4,941 tons of coke and generated benefits of 11.0183 million yuan. This achieved the expected effect. In December 2023, the Shougang Energy Department, Investment Management Department, and Ironmaking Operation Department worked together efficiently to launch the No. 1 and No. 2 blast furnace dehumidification project. The project team members overcame factors such as a tight schedule and a small construction site, innovated the organizational model, promoted high-quality and efficient construction of the project, and put all three blast furnaces into full operation in just 166 days. It is estimated that the reduction of coke consumption in ironmaking in 2024 will generate benefits of 35.24 million yuan.
