The integrated hot-formed steel double door knocker is based on laser-tailored welding technology to connect hot-formed steel materials of different thicknesses and strengths. The door knocker tailor-welded plates are integrated and hot-stamped into parts through a mold. The important contribution of this technology is that, on the one hand, it can make the car have better anti-collision and energy absorption performance; on the other hand, it can improve the material utilization rate, realize the light weight of the vehicles, simplify the assembly process, and save production costs.

In 2022, PANGANG participated in the "Development and Pre-research of Key Technologies for Industrial Application of Hot-formed Steel Double Door Knockers for Passenger Cars" project led by the Automotive Lightweight Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance. The material selection and design of the integrated hot-formed steel double door ring laser-welded plate originated from this project. The raw materials are all from high-strength and high-toughness hot-formed steel produced by Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., and produced by Panzhong Yihong and Anshan Iron and Steel Group Vanadium and Titanium (Steel). The institute uses direct laser tailor welding technology to complete the work. Compared with the traditional door knocker component system, the weight is reduced by more than 20%.
