Recently, LY STEEL won an order for high corrosion-resistant weathering steel for the 850,000-kilowatt photovoltaic power generation project in Binzhou, Shandong. It is reported that this project is the first and currently the only photovoltaic project using the sea approved by the State Council in 2024.

The project is located in Binhai Town, Zhanhua District, Binzhou City. During construction, photovoltaic panels need to be installed on the surface of saline-alkali tidal flats, while taking into account marine aquaculture. Therefore, the material requirements for photovoltaic brackets are quite strict. The steel must not only have high corrosion resistance in C4 and above environments but also be pollution-free to water quality.
According to public media reports, after the completion of the project, it can provide 1.282 billion kWh of green and clean electricity every year.
