On June 7, a new batch of 300 tons of high-end wear-resistant steel NM500-DBJ customized and developed by Handan Iron and Steel Company of HBIS Group was delivered to a large domestic engineering machinery manufacturing company. The product has excellent bending performance, welding performance, and wear resistance, and the quality fully meets the customer's high standards. This product will replace imports and be used in the manufacture of key parts of high-end hydraulic balers. At present, Handan Iron and Steel has continuously supplied more than 2,000 tons to this customer.
The high-end hydraulic baler produced by this customer is used for cutting, crushing, compressing, and baling scrap steel. To ensure good crushing and compression performance and the long service life of the baler, the steel needs to be bent 90 degrees three times and then welded with gas shielding multiple times. Hence, the material bending and welding performance requirements are extremely stringent.

Technical R&D personnel optimized the product composition design and process plan formulation, strictly confirmed the quality of raw materials and equipment accuracy before production, implemented the high-draw carbon supplementary blowing mode in the converter of the steelmaking process, operated the entire smelting process by the nitrogen control mode, optimized the use of protective slag, and put into use electromagnetic stirring equipment. In particular, the innovative heat treatment process adopts a lower austenitizing insulation temperature, a temperature-controlled quenching process, and a three-stage quenching and cooling process, and strengthens the control of key process parameters to improve the wear resistance of the entire plate. After the product was delivered, it was highly recognized by customers.
