Recently, Baosteel's new product - pickling-free, painting-free, high-corrosion-resistant cold-rolled coil was successfully rolled in the 2030 cold-rolling plant. Baosteel has made great progress in green, environmentally friendly process technology and green, high-performance product technology.

Baosteel prefabricates the corrosion-resistant layer on the raw material billet, forms a metallurgical bond with the base carbon steel during the hot rolling process, and forms a high-plasticity dense oxide film on the surface of the hot-rolled coil, which deforms with the substrate in the cold rolling process without being destroyed. Through this series of operations and means, Baosteel successfully exempted the pickling process and made the final product have both corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical properties. This new product will provide new products for upgrading and replacement in the fields of industrial and civil construction, civil furniture and kitchenware, green metallurgy, etc.

The Central Research Institute cooperated with the cold-rolling plant to develop a pickling-free cold-rolling process technology. It successfully produced a 1mm thick specification of a high-corrosion-resistant cold-rolled coil that can be used without painting. Eliminating the pickling process can make products and processes more low-carbon and environmentally friendly. The pickling-free, coating-free, and highly corrosion-resistant cold-rolled coils produced this time will be used for the exterior walls of buildings renovated in a certain Baosteel project. Subsequently, the cold-rolled coils using this process will be used to meet high-end needs such as building structures, metallurgy, chemicals, and vehicles.

The success of this large-scale production trial rolling perfectly reflects Baosteel's overall technical strength and the fruit of Baosteel's culture of cooperation.
